Home tour and general discussion

We start our journey together by conducting a home tour. Our goal is to ensure you are comfortable with the home, our staff and we have the opportunity to learn more about the resident.

Comprehensive long-term care plan.

We can work with external providers to conduct a comprehensive healthcare assessment. Part of the process includes discussions with family members and healthcare providers to address everyone’s needs and concerns.

The process

Finding a home for your loved one can be a daunting process. We understand there are many decisions to be made and we are here to help. Here is a general overview:

  • Meet and greet tour - gives families an opportunity to see the home, meet the staff and other residents.

  • Health assessment - a registered nurse will conduct an in-person assessment, this allows us to establish the resident healthcare needs.

  • Paperwork - intake forms package which contain contracts, resident rights and facility rules based on Washington State requirements.

  • Medication and insurance - we work with specialized pharmacies that focus on the needs of adult family home providers and residents.

  • Moving in - room will be ready for residents to move in. Typically residents like to bring their own furniture and belongings. We provide basic furniture such as the bed, dresser, TV and book stand.

  • One to two weeks of adjustment - Moving in can be stressful for residents as it’s a major life event. We expect families and previous caretakers to be involved and available to coordinate with staff. During this time we are able to further evaluate the resident and work with healthcare providers to adjust medication or external services (e.g. schedule regular physical therapy).

Each resident is unique and we work with you to ensure the process is as seamless as possible.
